Last update of the night 9:10pm

Hey, all... Gracie is doing great! She is resting comfortably, and still intubated, will probably be til tomorrow. (lay man's terms, she's on the ventiliator). But she's breathing above the vent, it's always good to get some extra oxygen while she's on pain meds.  She's still regulating her body temp good, except her hands & feet were cold, so we put little socks on her hands..(so when you look at pic, you'll see socks on her hands).  We stayed with her til 6ish, then went back around 7:30 for an hour.

Gracie came back into her NICU room about 4:30pm.  The surgeon came up before to talk to us & report that everything went well.  She said that about 20 minutes into the surgery, her heart rate dropped to the low 60's & they had to do chest compressions, but she brought herself back up to the 170's within 2 minutes.. soo sorta 'no big deal', we're glad Max was there to help her back up!! I'm sure!!

Pre-surgery!

Post Surgery

The post surgery picture is a little dark; but she has a Mickey Mouse bandaid on her belly.. her NJ tube is still in.  They didn't have to give her another IV, but just kept the one in her foot.  She had a hiatal hernia repair (in belly), a nissin fundiplication, a g-tube put into her belly (for feeds later on), and two small hernia repairs in the groin area (one on each side).  She is on morphin for the pain!  She came back up to her room with her eyes open wide, which everyone was very impressed with.  Margo was great with her.  The surgeons were great and the anethesoligists came back up with her & they were wonderful in explaining everything.  Her Neo-nataologists came in, and the Neo Nurse Practioners, other nurses were helping out to settle her in too.  She came back as amazing Grace, as she is!  We are very Thankful for God & Gracie & for all the prayers nationwide (literally), all of YOU who are keeping us in your prayers today; we appreciate it!!

Time for a little xfinity, the good wife tonight..and then bed!  We are sure that Gracie will have a good night & we'll be back in the a.m. to see her!!

To all my friends back home that had their own tough, emotional day with the loved ones memorial service, I've been thinking of you too!! Sorry, you had to go thru that.  But L.N. was a wonderful man, and will be surely missed by a community of people.

Thanks to Margo, who's a wonderful RN... and really took care of Gracie & us today!!  Thanks to Emily, who's the evening nurse too!!

Good night all!! Blessings in bountiful!

Love,
pattie & gary, gracie & maxwell

p.s. Oh, yea, and I did have to get my blood drawn for that 'incident' that happened last night.. (rolling of eyes!!)
