Gracie is 100 days old today!! And we brought in some mini muffins & cheese danish, but none of Gracie's regular nurses are here today..soo we're not sharing.. is that mean?? Sounds like it!! Well, maybe I'll give them the mini muffins & keep the cheese danish for us. Okay, that's what I'll do. Because really our whole unit has helped Gracie, if not directly... and we got Margo a starbucks coffee yesterday, because we knew she wouldn't be here today. And Sue's not here either (hope she's okay), but we got her something special..we can give it to her another day.
In Gracie fashion, she extubated herself early this am at 1:30a.m. So, she is on high flow, but very little of it.. so she probably won't need it for much longer. She is doing so much better. She has a very hoarse cough & cry (because of having that tube in her mouth for a few days). She's sucking the pacifier, and they took out her epidural this morning. She's on full feeds & she's losing all her fluid weight.. get her back to her weight pre-surgery & then we'll be able to tell what weight she's really gaining.
So, she's having a great day! And she's doing wonderfully post surgery. Thanks for all the continued prayers!!
Gary just came back in & said save the mini muffins for tomorrow.. so we will! All that hogwash I said above, just ignore! Like everywhere else, we have our favorite nurses.. they are not just our favorites, but Gracie's as well..and truly they have been here since day 1.. sooo we'll celebrate with them!!
Happy 100 days old, Gracie!! Mommy & Daddy love you very much!!
Love,
pattie & gary, gracie & maxwell
