First off, Gracie is 75 days old & 38 weeks today!! She weighs 3lbs. 14oz. Hope it continues, maybe slow & steady!
Here's the short story for today: Yesterday, Gracie had alot of pukies of old brown blood; her NJ tube was eventually taken out late last night because she was throwing up so much, and they realized it was clogged. They put a NG tube back in & continued with the feeding, but then she started throwing up formula. So, they stopped the feeds all together & took out the tube. Had a pedi GI specialiast come in this morning, and they advised to let her rest & relax for 48 with no feedings (they're giving her sugar water for now & will put her back on TPN, which means had to place an IV back in). Then they will have the NJ tube put back in on Tuesday, maybe get a look under radiology at her belly & bowels & see if they see anything that could cause a bleed or an irritation to bleed. (could be a lot of things, we're hoping it's just a tube irritation, or maybe an allergy to the protein in the 100% formula). Then they will restart feedings back to the Neocate by NJ. Within the next 48 hours, we will know more. For today, she is resting & has no tubes on her face.. and looks even more beautiful.. (and she hasn't thrown up or dsat since late last night)
Look at the beautiful face. She does look a little pale, so they've ordered blood work & we'll know later if they're going to give her or have to give her a blood transfusion. Gary held her for a little bit today, and I did to! So, it's just a small step backward, but hopefully by Tuesday she'll be back to feedings on the neocate formula.. and hopefully back to gaining.. we also hope she doesn't lose too much weight.
She's doing okay.. :) I hope God is listening.. she has been thru so much for a little girl!!
Daddy's on his way home today. Safe travels; will be back Thursday.
Love you guys, & i'll update later..
