Miss Gracie girl needs to eat!! She is very intolerant to her feedings. They gave her new formula today, 1/2 digested one (yuck..and it smells yuck too..). Good thing she can't taste it, or she would definitely spit it back up! But we need prayers to help her eat. She's back on 1.5cc/hr., and she has had a few spit ups.. but they are continuing with the feedings. They've checkd her belly & it's very clear, there is no blockages or anything. hmm.. Miss Gracie!! I gave her a talking to before we left the hospital.
She weighs 2 lbs. 8 oz. So she's doing well in height & weight, but needs to keep feeding to gain! She is on a 24 hour study with abuterol, to see if that helps her breathing a little. Her lungs are still immature & while she's on the ventiliator (she's still on, a week as of today); she sometimes holds her breath or "clamps down" on her breathing.. a motion that she uses all her muscles to stop her breathing, and then she d-sats. So they're hoping the albuterol will help her get that extra breath, to remind her to keep breathing, and have less d-sats! We'll see.
Let's all keep my princess in our prayers to eat & breathe, please!!
