My alarm is set for 6:00 a.m. anyway, so I might as well stay awake.
I wanted to write a quick note to the doctors, and nurses at Maine Medical Center.. NICU:
Over the last 125 days, you have seen us at our highs & lows. Many of you have gotten to know us personally.. and we have had many a laughs, and you have seen ME (specifically) cry quite a few times. Today, I cry with tears of joy, but also some sadness. Maine will ALWAYS have a special part in my heart & in our family. I promise to send pictures & keep you all updated. And we will be back for NICU reunions & even just for long weekend stays & be sure to visit. (although Gary might not think so!)
Please try to have "continuity" to your patients. There's nothing like leaving one day & coming back to something different in the morning. Nurses, you have an important job.. you are the frontline to the baby's & the parents..if you don't like your job, or you are unhappy.. you are doing an unjustice to us & yourselves.. Get a JOB you enjoy!!
Too many to list personally, but that you to the NNP staff (Cindy, Ann & Dianne..)
the MD Staff: Dr. Peter, Dr. McBee, Dr. Frehm, Dr. Vittorito, Dr.Vozzelli, Dr. Morrow :)
& Dr. Sobeil.
All the nurses who have cared for Gracie over the last 125 days, Thank you!
Margo said a long time ago, "it takes a village"..
And all of you are the village truly where she comes from!!
Thank you for your gracious hands on her head, her belly (thanks Dr. Langer!), her legs (marisa & OT).. She is a miracle baby.. and although I wouldn't want anyone to go thru what we have.. We are stronger because of it!
Love,
Gracie! & her mom & dad..
