out of the teens!

Grace has had a wonderful weight increase in the past two weeks..

 

It's official..

she's.... (Drumroll please!)

 

20 lbs. 2 oz!!!

 

 

31" long!!

So that blue/white dress she has on, had to be a shirt.. because it

didn't cover her to her legs.. lol

 

 

 

She had a great eye appointment this week..

she is on the curve for vision.  We go every six months to get checked..

just to make sure everything is okay! (there was never a question,

just because she was premature had some nstagymus & her left

eye turns in a little.. but we'll keep patching & it's getting stronger!!)

 

 

 

And then yesterday, he had an appointment with her pedi surgeon..

still a little red around the gtube area (no leakage though!)

The redness around the tube, is probably because of the stuture

from the old site (that old site is still giving us trouble!)

But.. we are putting steroid cream on it, twice a day!

And back in 6 weeks!

This is the appointment she weighed in at 20 lbs. 2oz!!

 

 

 

Grace is already 25 months old!!  Big girl!

Milestone Monday!

Grace is starting to mimick everything!! My cousins from Canada were down for the weekend, and one of them did 3 claps, and put his arms in the air.. Grace followed suit, almost immediately!!


Today was a special day.. We have a small "feast" (festival) that happens in Town.  It's all weekend long, but today there is a spiritual procession that happens down one of the main streets.  My sister came down with her two kids, who are 3 & 5; and they absolutely LOVE playing with Grace..and she them!  We walked up to the feast for a little bit, and then watched the procession from the street corner.  I remember doing that as a child.. it's a Labor Day weekend tradition.

A shout out to Mr. & Mrs. Foley..

who have been reading about Grace from the very beginning..

and got to meet Grace today in person!!!

I'm happy they finally met her, and her them!

Both retired educators.. they are both wonderful & beautiful people!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I thought you weren't suppossed to work on Labor day! (weekend)

But everyone I talk too is busy getting the house clean, and organized &

the kids ready for school..

Me.. It's almost fall..so I did some cooking!

(much easier to cook when it's not too hot)

Pea soup & grapenut custard pudding!

And it was delicious!

 We know where Grace got her curls.. Auntie Dalila :) .. This was from last week's visit, when she helped comb out her knots!!

Abby spent the day with us.. she dressed her lil 'sister'..

 

 It's not just about Grace getting big (the picture on the left is this past week with Abby.. & the picture on the right is a year ago!!) BIG GIRLS!!

 

 

Thanks to Auntie Heather & Uncle Ross..this is our new yard swing & slide..

Grace LOVES it!

And then today we had frozen yogurt for a snack (new place just opened up the street from us).. Grace didn't want any..but she was sitting on dada's lap with her purple

block.. & then plunk! she threw it in dada's ice cream..

It was very FUNNY!!! LOL..

 

 

 

It's been a busy but quiet weekend as well.

Alot of appointments for Grace this week..

first of the month! Hope they all go smoothly!!

Gary & I met with a financial planner today..

a start on making sure our future is what we want it to be.

Especially for our little Gracie girl!!!

And although it can be very overwhelming..(aren't finances always like that??)

It was a positive experience..

and it makes me Thankful & Grateful for what my life is..

 In a "Grait" Trainor..I think that's how you spell it.. she's not crying here.. but trust me she cried the rest of the time..  this will help her walk, and once she gets comfortable it'll come home with us!!  (And people wonder why I got rid of the other couch in the house..) with a little help, she is able to put her feet forward & bend..to walk :)

This is a makeshift RIDE.. just to give her some fun.. and stretch her legs a little.. she didn't think it was too fun! As you can see from her crying eyes.. God she is breaking my heart!!

Milestone Monday to Swimmy Saturday

Sorry, it's been a week since I have posted..it was a busy week for Mama..

 

Let's see, Milestone Monday..

Grace sitting on a stool with PT.. look how great she looks..sitting up like a big girl..

then she does 'sit to stand'..and her PT says her legs are getting soo strong!!

 

The books to the right, are from her secret "Book of the month" friends..

her Great Aunt, has been sending books to her monthly..

Crystal helped with picking these out! 

And we love to read before bedtime.. Grace does a wonderful job, watching our

mouths reading to her.. I know she just wants to say something!!!

 

  Celery eating!!

She's getting her two year molars, so she was knawing off on this piece of celery

last night at a party!  Which she did great at.. little fussy around 8pm when we left, but come on..it was an hour past bedtime!

 

A visit to her dietician on Monday..revealed she is now 19 lbs. 8 oz. ..

and 1-2 meals a day, she will have a blenderized meal thru her gtube

(whatever she doesn't eat by mouth).. so we offered her a little linquica patty earlier in the week..she did taste it, but spit it out :( ..so we just blenderized it with some

pureed carrots & a little water..and voila she has a blenderized what's called

a "gavage" feeding.. (we extend a 60 cc tube on her gtube & it goes down

by gravity, or we push it in with a syringe)..so for now she gets 1 of these.. so

her belly doesn't feel so full with just the formula..

Her pediatrician thinks that once she gets closer to that age 2 'corrected age' (the time she would've been born..so closer to end of October or so), then maybe it'll just

click that she needs to eat or swallow.. Medically, there isn't anything wrong! (TG!)

 

 

The week rounded off with PT & OT (daddy was home for it..as Mama was taking a class).. Daddy's little girl cried a bit..thinking daddy would make them stop..

he just had to leave the room.

 

We also had a fun play date with a new friend.  Landon & mom, Debbie!

Thanks for the visit.. nice chat! And Landon loved Grace, and she him.

 

 

Today was swim.. i'll post a pic later..

but she's doing great..and we're signing up for the next swim classes for September.

Tonight will be the beach.. I'll sure to post some pics.

Kristina on her recent wedding!! And Erica is going to be a mama in January! And Mari too who is a Mama to twin girls :)

We are very excited for them.  We stay in touch, via social media.  And it's really

nice they all have something wonderful happening!!
