Supergirl getting ready...

Our Superhero is getting revved up for her 3rd birthday party..

 

  here's this year's invite!!

And this gift was from Auntie Teresa in NY, she got it today..

did a great job unwrapping..

and of course playing with the paper!!

 

 

 

 

Can't wait for Saturday & to celebrate her milestones..

 

 

Tomorrow is her LAST day of early intervention toddler class..

this week would've been her last week of services through EI..

however, the school department is paying for her to continue services

through August..where her birthday falls in the beginning of the month..

Grace really loves toddler class..so we've decided to put her in a toddler daycare

every thursday in August for a few hours for the socialization.

She'll be great! I just know it!  She'll start that next week.

Swimming again...

Grace started swim lessons again with Mr. Greg.

This picture, on the left was May of '13              &      this was YESTERDAY...

& this is from Yesterday.. she LOVES the water.. so excited to be in it!

They sing songs, and float around.. & the teacher takes them too..

(which she wasn't too crazy about..but went with him)

This is her first class back..so next week will be better!

Specs.

Grace's glasses finally came in...

 

  This was the 1st picture taken with her glasses on as she viewed them herself in the mirror!! She was very excited!!

Just chillin with my new glasses.. she did actually wear them for about 10 minutes

before she wanted to take them off.

We got them about 11 a.m. today & have been trying them on/off for the day..

she's doing pretty well with them.. of course she wants to take them off & 'taste' them..

everything goes in the mouth :) but she did pretty good leaving them on too!

Big girl!!

 

 

 

Grace also had her neurology appointment today..and GREAT news there

she doesn't have to see him again for a year!

He was so pleased with her progress..even though for us he says it must be frustrating

that she's not talking or walking.. but for him (he hasn't seen her in about 8 mos)

he was happy to see her 'walking' with help, standing & sitting unassisted as she

rummaged through my purse!  And he made some great points on the talking side of things..he said that he thinks she really does understand & comprehension/cognitive is a part of communication.. and that's a great start!

He also said that he observed her communicating in all the right places..

plus he was concerned about my bruised arm..when i said it was Grace he

said that was her way of communicating when she's frustrated/tired (which

is usually when she bites/pinches).. that's all communication!

He was very happy to see her & said to just be patient with her..

which of course we are.. we always have believed & have hope that these

things will come..

 

Like I always say.. when she is in a structured environment (school) 4 days a week

two hours a day with other little people.. it'll all click :)

My digits..

I loved Julia Roberts in "Erin Brokovich".. remember when the

soon to be motorcycle boyfriend is next door making all that noise, and

she goes out to give him a piece of her mind because the children

are sleeping?  He asks her for her "digits"..

She goes into this 15 min long dialogue of her 'digits'..

that includes how many times she's been married, how many kids she has,

etc. etc.

It's a very funny scene!

One that I think about.. all the time, especially this time of year..

 

 

3 years ago TODAY.. started our forever connection with Maine.

I remember it as if it was today.. I remember everything..

July 21, 2011.. it was a Thursday

we were camping at Saco Campsite in N. Conway, NH

& had just gotten back from The Blueberry Muffin from breakfast.

I hadn't been feeling well the last couple of days..

and I was soon to find out why..

Around 11:00 a.m., my water broke..it was 25weeks!

 

And sooo my experience began!

 

In two weeks, Grace & Maxwell will be 3!

We will be celebrating with our superhero, 1 lb. 13oz Miracle..

as Maxwell will be celebrating with Grandpa.

It's still a somewhat somber time for us.. the experience as a whole..

as grateful as we are for & with Grace..

we have a baby that has passed.. it's something you never let go of.

Where would he be developmentally?

What would they be doing together?

Would he have curly curly hair like Grace?

 

IT SUCKS!

 

 

 

Sorry.. I know I don't talk about it much.. just sucks thinking about

it!

 

 

On to Today.. Grace had a procedure done today at Tufts Medical Center

& it went well.. Botox to her groin area (for hips) & back of her leg (right leg)..

the botox helps to pull the tone away from her muscle

to assist with keeping her hip in the socket & more relaxed muscle

to help with walking.  We'll see in the next few months how it worked!

She did great.. was deeply sedated, but went to sleep fine

and woke up fine.

 

She's back to pinching..so I guess she did good!

 

Getting ready to celebrate her 3rd birthday & then school year will

start soon after!

Mini Vacation..

We just got back from a few days in one of our favorite places..

North Conway, NH..

we stayed at a little motel, that we've stayed before.. The Maple Leaf Motel..

cute little house..

Grace did "ok" at nap & bed time.  It was one big room & we brought her pack n play..

all three nights, she didn't go to sleep til 9:45 pm!!  Woke up at 7..

 

but during the day.. we visited with our friends over at the Saco Campground..

Grace LOVED & absolutely loves the pool..

  You can see her big smile!  She sat on this step with her hands in the water & feet kicking for an hour & half!!

And at The Christmas Loft..she loved the COW that talks to you when you go in!

 

 

We had a nice few days away.  One more planned mini vacation in August to

visit Nonni in NY.. and then it's get ready for school.. she starts pre-school on Sept. 2nd!

 

 

Oh.. YES..and don't forget.. our little 1lb miracle

will be turning 3 in less than 30 days!!

WOW!!

 

She's come so far!

 

Grace is doing great! She consistently walks with her walker... & doing a better job standing up with walking as we hold her as well.

she is blabbering alot more now & very musically inclined..

her favorite part of dinner is when we start singing & clapping to "we will rock you"

she's tasting more .. licking & trying ne foods.. (slowly but surely!!)

 

She's getting there.. She's got a wonderful personality..

happy, happy, happy!!

(& she loves to pinch! :( not good for mama & dada)
