It's been a great year, and although Grace doesn't understand Christmas 100%, she

sure had a big smile when she saw Santa's gifts.. & she loves the tree & the lights.

 

Grace hadn't been feeling that well in the last five days.. but she woke up yesterday

finally back to her little self.. a slight fever today, but we are chalking it up to teething! (still!!)

 Christmas Morning Excitement!!



December pics..

Hey everyone.. Grace is doing wonderful at school..

we've had some proud moments this week, counting today's written in note

says that Grace's 'motor imitation' is at 75%!! (highest yet).. meaning that when they

ask her to touch her belly, nose, hair or stick your tongue out.. whatever they ask her to do

she is at 75% in doing it!!

 

She is signing "more" continously when asking for things..both at school & home..

and KISSES.. she is just FULL of them!!

Last night at Kmart, she waved randomly at a woman & then blew her a kiss!

When we ran into another pre-school teacher who called out her name, she turned

and waved back..and was so excited to see her 'out' in the real world.

She goes for her first outpatient PT today.. & then feeding & speech tomorrow..

busy times..but also fun & filled with JOY!

First Christmas Concert

Grace had her first pre-school Christmas Concert today..

me & dada went.. and I had to move my seat, crawl up the aisle & kneel

down through the performance to get some good pictures!!

 

Their song was, "Must be Santa" (clap!)

  Unfortunately, Grace LOVES hair.. she doesn't mean to be fresh.. & doesn't know her own strength..

And this was yesterday, when they made gingerbread men in school with playdoh..

soo cute.. i'm thinking she needs some playdoh tools at home!

We are definitely going through clothes & toys..

wayyy too much of each!

 

 

all continues to be well here.  extra outpatient PT starts next week..and

an evaluation for more speech & feeding next week too..

We're back & with pictures..

Arrived back from NY this afternoon.. Grace did great with the car rides to & from..

you can see in pictures, she looked so big playing with Noni on the floor..

and her cousin, Johnny Jr!!

 

She even had her first chicken leg.. (lol).. tasting it anyway!

She also sipped from a straw the first day we were there..

it was a fun time.. but as always glad to be home..

 

Onward to December..

Happy Thanksgiving!

Always something to be thankful for.. especially when you have a little love bug,

like we do!  It's been a great year, with hardly any doctor visits & Grace has

been feeling pretty good!

 

We are in NY visiting Noni for thanksgiving..everyone is impressed

on how big she's gotten since August.

 

A stranger came up to us today to compliment Grace's very curly hair..

 

 

This is a picture from this week, from school..where she was shaking up the 'butter'..

And our first day in New York.. YES.. her first sip through a straw.

Another haircut & more updates..

Grace got another hair cut today..  she's soo curly, and when they 'pick' her out..

boy oh boy..is it a fro!!

 

I ran into a old high school friend who said.. she has curls just like my brother John! :)

 

  before a few days ago..

All "picked" out.. :)

  The final .. the front is in a 'twist' & pushed back with a

little purple clip..(that lasted an hour!)

 

 

 

Yesterday was a team meeting at school.. a chance to catch up for the last 3 months.  PT is soo proud of how much Grace has gained strength in her core & trunk!  She even did a little crawling with the PT the day before..  she says Grace is very social & loves visiting & waving to all the other children.

Speech says she doesn't really talk.. hmm.. well she does ALOT of babbling at home & on

the phone nightly to her Nonni & Vevo.

She's a pleasure to have in school..and doing very well.

 

We are looking into getting her an hour of PT outside of school as well as some speech and feeding therapy.  She has come so far already & we are really proud of her!!

 

The stander is back at home.. gotta start getting her into it & staying in it..for at least 30 min a day!

She is definitely getting stronger with her standing..

Bath Time.

We only have a shower in our home.. & sometimes feel sad because Grace

doesn't get to enjoy a bath.  When we are visiting Noni in NY, she takes a bath daily

there & really loves splashing & playing in the water..(as most kids do)..

 

well, we broke out the 'baby' tub.. we used maybe once before, but

Grace wasn't really able to sit up in it by herself & it was hard for us to hold

her & wash her..

 

 

Gary cleaned it out today..and our big girl LOVED it!!

 

  BIG Girl!!

 

 

 

 

 We are also getting Grace some extra PT on a weekly basis, and went on Thursday

for her evaluation..  & she walked in this basic little walker..

she's crying & upset..but she did pretty well :)

 

 

Moving right along!!

November 3, 2011...

3 years ago.. Grace was weighing in at 4lbs. 1 oz..

November is Prematurity Awareness Month..

I honor Grace & Maxwell.

 

 

My mom & Grace's great Aunt Pat were up to visit in Maine in 2011..

Another Halloween is before us.. Happy Halloween!

This is the first year, that Grace was really into it.. we went house visiting

and then home to give out candy.. she did great!

And she looked like a big girl..

Big doings in our house tonight!!!!

What an awesome day for Grace!!

In pre-school, they've been learning about 9-1-1 & Fire engines & safety..

the teacher has promised me a "stop, drop & roll" video but I have yet to receive it!

 

However, today was Fire engine visit day..and check out these awesome pictures..

& Grace made the Fairhaven Fire-EMS page on Facebook with this picture.

 

 

 

And if that wasn't enough.. we got a cool, pink Potty in the mail today..

I sat her on it with clothes on earlier..than at bath/shower time..

we sat her on it with no diaper, and after a few minutes this happened...



 

Then it was just lounging!! We are soo PROUD of Grace.. what a big girl!!

big day today & pictures...

Sorry, it's been awhile.. life is getting away from my writing..

but Grace is doing GREAT!!

 

 

Today was her first day riding the school bus to school!

She's such an adaptable child & her friends that are in her class take the bus so

we figured it would be a great thing for her & today went well!!

 

Kind of blurry..but here she is on the bus.. I'll try & get a better one tomorrow!

There's also a new sitter for the afternoon & she took Grace for a walk to the beach today..

and they found a great little perfect shell!!

  And went on the swing!

 

A great transition for Grace to start with a new afternoon sitter & take the bus.

 

She's getting so big!!

 

Eating a little more as well.. :) work in progress for sure!!
