Beautiful weather.. low to mid 60's today..

to take advantage of Grace & the weather, we headed to our local

Zoo this morning!

 

  This may be "Emily" the elephant..

 



  And here is Grace checking out the bird.. She enjoys the wind in her face (not the sun!).. & checking out the animals..

 

 

Eating a pickle at Pub 99 the other night! She licked 2 pickles & loved them.

Grace has really mastered picking up food with her fingers.. she had her favorite, clam chowder for dinner last night.  She is still liking bold flavors.  Again, not eating enough for calorie intake, but nonetheless, she does taste everything!

(even the things she shouldn't be putting in her mouth..)

 

A visit to the nutritionist this past week, she's lost 1 lb in 3 months..

not the way we wanted her to go.. so we are adding "Duocal" to her g-tube feeds..

which is just a powder of condensed calories (sugar & carbs).. hoping that'll help

with weight gain.  And we are bumping her intake up as well... she is also more active than she was three months ago..& that eats up calories as well..

She's getting there!! Slowly, but surely!

 

Grace is doing GREAT with OT & PT .. she is nearly sitting up by herself..

we started Music Together classes about two weeks ago..

and listen to the cd's daily.  She really enjoys music!

 

I began an American Sign Language course, this past week, thru her Early Intervention

it's a 5 week course.. so I'm hoping to pick up some more signs to teach Grace.

Grace does HEAR, for those who wonder.. however, she has mastered a couple of signs already..and it's a great communication learning tool for toddlers.

 

Grace is a smart, beautiful little girl.  She has mastered her "silly monkey face"; especially when Vevo is around.

I know...

I know, it's been awhile..

Thanks for coming back & sticking with me..

Grace is doing fabulous!

I'm a little hesitant, as the Facebook pages are still up..

but I will post some fun pictures this weekend.

 

It seems like daily, Grace is getting taller & taller.. :)

she's not as chubby though.. we go back to the dietician/nutritionist

on Monday..so we'll see if she's gained any weight.

 

 

 

 

There's alot I want to say.. but tonight it's all about

watching the news & hoping & praying for all of these

victims of the Boston Bombings.

Soo sad!!!

Today was the 1st day with Grace in her

Big Girl Car Seat..

If you're happy & you know it...

Slightly hesitant.

After the whole FB scam thing a few weeks ago, I've been

slightly hesitant to update the blog.

I have reached out to a couple of news stations,

and the local Fairhaven

Neighborhood News.. for stories..

maybe just awareness for others.

 

 

 

 

On the good news.. Grace is getting soo big,

and so responsive these days.

We were at my doctor's office today, and when any (of the women)

said "HI" to her..she immediately waved!!!

 

When a man said "hi"..her little voice said, "hi"..

(just like her mama!! :)

 

  Here she is..showing you all her teeth..finally her back teeth are coming in..more than popped.  She's doing pretty well with them coming in; other then her hands in her mouth constantly.

And today.. at her favorite desk.

I caught her emptying her bucket, one by one toy..

 

She truly understands what we are saying..

Lately, we've been listening to a cd in the car..

her new favorite songs are, "If you're happy & you know it..clap your hands"

and she does clap right along with it.

Her other favorite is, "3 little Monkeys Jumping on the bed"..

today she clapped when that one came on.

 

She's a little love!

Lots Happening. 8:45pm

Lots happening this week..

and I haven't written since my last 'mad' post!

I'm certainly not over it.. there's so much to tell you, but for now..

I need to just say.. we are still working on investigating it all.

It seemed there were at least 4 pages with Grace's pictures on it.

I hope the person(s) responsible for doing that are happy..

they not only did it to us..but lots of other families.

There time will come.

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately, I've been experiencing some crazy lower

back pain... so with the added stress, I certainly have not had a good week.

But Grace is doing great.

A year ago, she was celebrating Easter at Hasbro Hospital..

and today, she is sitting up in a high chair, trying new foods.. and she

is a happy & healthy toddler!

Even having some toddler behavior.. lol..

 

 

Now we don't add pictures (without adding copyrighted on the bottom)

What a pain!!

I went back to review some posts with older pictures..

and it brought back a flood of memories.

This person has really hacked my brain & heart..

I hope they get there's!!

Disgusted. Upset. 9:31a.m.

I don't really know how to start..

I've been thinking about this non stop since last night..

I received an email from someone I didn't know, who had seen our blog and noticed some 'facebook pages' with Grace & Maxwell's pictures on them.

It's nothing that we put together..

so after a good three hours of figuring things out..

we learned that someone (most likely in the UK).. has been

stealing Grace's pictures (a few of max's) from the blog & posting them on

a fraudelent FaceBook page.

 

Maybe to get sympathy from people

(the pics when Grace was in the NICU & then at Hasbro)

and also to get $$ .. who knows if they really did.

 

 

This makes me so sad... and LIVID!

It was awful to see my pictures of my babies on someone else's page..

and the lies the person wrote about their 'babies'.. it was disgusting!

 

 

Many of my friends, and preemie mom friends have 'reported' the page..

I have filed numerous complaints with 'blogger' and 'facebook'..

I have a friend, who has a connection of a security person at FB and they

are also looking into it.

 

 

I'm sad that there are people in this world who would go out of there

way to do this.. It's sickening!

 

 

I don't want to take the blog down, as my Husband would like me to..

this was put up to update family and friends, and also be a resource

for other Preemie moms.

 

But with help from my friend, Melissa.. I will make the changes I need to..

to make sure this doesn't happen again!
